So like, I was just walking down the street listening to my iPod until I heard a BAM BAM BAM and a BOOM. I turned around and like…smoke was EVERYWHERE! It was SO COOL, hearing screeches of cars, and seeing them in fire. Seeing an ambulance and a line of cop cars driving down the street was like a parade with their pretty rainbow lights and sounds of sirens. People coming out of their houses in the neighborhood seeing this episode was interesting, like seeing the president drive by. Ones that were hurt during the car crash were put into the ambulance and was hushed to the hospital. All in all….that moment was TOTALLY WICKED! Well….everything was fine until I found out the one in the car crash was my father………

1. The university calls that author a racist because of the result he got from taking the shooting game consisting of blacks and white holding either a gun, cellphone, or a wallet. Results show that the author shot the blacks faster than the whites, and the author is white himself. But for the real self, he’s not a racist, its just that his mind wasn’t working as properly when he was shooting buttons, where he couldn’t tell if the man is holding a gun or not.

2. I think these tests do measure unconscious racism because of how people would be surprised at the result that they shot one race more than the other. Its like a black man shooting more whites than blacks when they didn’t realize it.

3. Racism may be easier to determine than sexism, such as the whole doctor situation where African-Americans turned out to be doctors and are not referred to as “blacks” determined by whites. When whites dislike the African-American doctor, the whites call these doctors as straight up “blacks”.

4. Women are not hated, but are stereotyped by being friendly and kind. I think that people wouldn’t want women as president because of how they are also stereotyped as weak and not strong. People these days want someone who is strong and tough into the decisions they make.

I really enjoyed the movie, I find the movie to be very touching and dramatic, and with some parts to be funny as well. I noticed how the majority of the movie took place at the apartment, seeing how the family is having financial problems, except the moment the grandma received $10,000, which is a fortune in the family. With Walter having a job and his sister living in the house as a princess, both grandma and Walter’s wife stay home to maintain the house, then Travis, their son, comes home from school into his grandma’s arm. I really like how this movie is really family oriented, showing how family look over each other, helping each other with their needs. I was really upset at how the family weren’t able to live in a pretty house that they were going to live in when a man visited them saying they can’t live there. I find this to be very stupid because the family can’t move there because they are black. The neighborhood consists all white families, and this is very discriminating. When the family found out that Walter gambled with Grandma’s money and lost all of them, I felt mad and upset, and downside as well.

Racism among others are growing…where stereotypes have been introduced about particular races. This has increased discrimination, where at times you’d feel intimidated when you are the “minority” among the society. This is like being the only black sheep in a herd of white sheep. This reminds me of the Civil Rights Movement, with Segregation of separating blacks and whites, such as separate schools, separate bathrooms, and even separate drinking fountains. Especially on the bus with Rosa Parks, where she was arrested for sitting in the front of the seat where she wasn’t suppose to because she was black. Even with Gandhi being kicked out of the train for sitting in a seat reserved for a white person, but Gandhi is Indian. In the world today, such as being in school, there were a few “cliques” consisting of one race, such as seeing a huge crowd of friends in one area of the school that are all Asian. With my friends in particular, I call it “my rainbow of friends” where we all embrace each other no matter what race we are, showing that we care for one another. In my personal life, I have never really been discriminated by someone just because of my own race.

I really like how some groups acted out their story out to make it more fun and interesting. I find it to be so cool to have Lego animations to tell a story, pretty amazing! There were also some stories that are funny that pretty much cracked the whole class up. I pretty much enjoyed watching these stories, but I think our group would do a better job at our own story if only we had more time to do it.

I thought that we should to a digital story about a high school girl named Jada with very low confidence at school. She wants to join the cheer squad, but is afraid she has zero confidence, and in order she gets in the cheer squad, she needs to gain a lot of self-esteem.By doing so she needs to be able to make friends and go up to people, apparently that’s her weakness. So then she has to start exposing herself to people by getting out of her comfort zone and make some friends, luckily she was able to be friends with one of the girls on the cheer squad. This friend was really friendly, but the other girls were just making fun of her at the fact how she wants to be on the cheer squad. This friend wants to help Jada out after feeling sorry for her, but then realizes how bossy she is. This friend, Scarlett, wasn’t trying to be bossy, but to be helpful. And so in the end, Scarlett and Jada became good friends, where Jada made it to the cheer squad.

Goethe states: “Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men.”

This quote talks about how people are to dream big dreams as they go on with life, so that they can go far and succeed more in life. Once an accomplishment has met, people are to stay productive with their other dreams that can tie into achieving another dream. When dreams are small, people might tend stick with that particular dream and would end up not enjoying it. Small dreams are I think the kinds of dreams that won’t last as long, and are dreams you may want to give up on. Whereas with big dreams you get to progress through stages of small dreams to get you closer and closer to what you want to achieve in. In the end, you would feel so proud of yourself and feel like you have the power to do whatever you wish to do. An example of a big dream would be mastering a career where you have a very productive life and receiving the goods you wanted such as money and wealth. A small dream would just be owning a big house, and once you have the house, you would stop

A girl once was an outsider, a loner, and a person who’d always think will lose hope when it comes to getting along with people, especially at school. She wants to be known by everyone, they one where everyone would look up to. If wanting to gain more leadership, she would need to be out going and being able to help everyone who needs help with their problems. But first she has to get out of her comfort zone and start interacting. She has done that, and made lots of friends. When one of her friends was feeling down, she was always the one that asks “What’s the matter?” all of her friends really appreciate the way she talks to them, and they all were inspired into what person she has become. She has now gained attention, in a good way that is, where people always look up to her and reach out to her when in need. When you say things from the heart, and things that are true, people are going to say that you are a good-hearted human being. Gaining confidence is a plus.

Law 11: Learn to Keep People Dependent on You

I find this law to be pretty useful when you want the society in your hands, basically wanting your peers to look up to you when they needed you. This law can give you more power because this motivates you to interact with people more often, and this can have you gain more self confidence if you were once a shy person. A very outgoing person would definitely fit in this law when they were to use this law. When people are feeling down, this law would tell the other person to walk up to the down-sided person and talk to them about their problems. The more you help people with their problems, the more dependence you gain just by following this law, and more and more people would want to look up to you. If you are a shy person and want to somehow gain some confidence, this law can definitely help you stand out more to people, and have them reach out to you when they want an ear to borrow, or at least being somewhat like a counselor to them. I believe there are people out there that needs someone to talk to, someone to reach to when they’re down, and finding a way to get back up on their two feet again. If you are willing to spend some quality time with people needing a friend, you are then a leader indeed.
